API on Law Enforcement (2014)

The Tobacco Control Office has launched a new Announcement in the Public Interest (API) on law enforcement today (3 July 2014).

To protect public health, Tobacco Control Inspectors would issue $1,500 fixed penalty notices to people smoking in no-smoking areas.  This API highlights offenders must co-operate by providing proof of identity and required information.  Otherwise, the maximum penalty is $10,000.
