Mainland-Hong Kong Expert Sharing Forum on Tobacco Control 2022

The Mainland-Hong Kong Expert Sharing Forum on Tobacco Control 2022 is co-organised by Chinese Association on Tobacco Control and TACO, Department of Health, HKSAR, and was supported by National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and Food and Health Bureau, HKSAR. It was held in Beijing on 10 June 2022 with the aim to allow experts from Mainland and Hong Kong to share their experience in the field of tobacco control and facilitate future tobacco control movement.

The Director of Health, Dr. Ronald Lam shared Hong Kong’s experience in implementing evidence-based tobacco control strategies and measures at the forum. Apart from tobacco control and challenges in Mainland and Hong Kong, the forum also covered tobacco control among teenagers and electronic cigarettes.

During the meeting, Mao Qunan, Director General, Department of Planning and Information, National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China also reaffirmed the HKSAR Government's effort and commitment in tobacco control. He wished to continuously deepening the collaboration between HKSAR and Mainland regarding health related issues, to further integrate Hong Kong into the development of a healthy China and enhance the effectiveness of tobacco control policy together.
