Main Services Areas

The Tobacco and Alcohol Control Office of the Department of Health works for building a smoke-free culture in Hong Kong through multi-sectoral collaboration and community mobilisation. Our main services areas include:

Health Promotion

  • Promoting smoke-free culture and enhance compliance to Cap. 371 through publicity and health education
  • Assisting venue managers of statutory no smoking areas to ensure public compliance to the Smoking (Public Health) Ordinance (Cap. 371)
Legislation

Tobacco Control Legislation

  • Enforcing and monitoring the compliance of the Smoking (Public Health) Ordinance (Cap. 371)
  • Handling complaints and enquiries related to the Smoking (Public Health) Ordinance (Cap. 371)
Health Promotion

Smoking Cessation Service

  • Coordinating the smoking cessation service provided by the Department of Health
  • Providing counselling on smoking cessation through smoking cessation hotline
